Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
— Psalm 37:4

Four years ago, we made a covenant before God, our family, and friends to do life together, and what a ride it’s been! Ever since then we’ve both held various jobs, volunteered, traveled around, and grew our family by one (hi, Shiloh). We’ve been able to stay put in San Diego despite moving from place to place. We’ve also made our commitment to serve at Foothills Christian Church a priority in our everyday - even with the little babe in tow (sorry, not sorry, Shiloh).

Naturally, our heart for youth ministry and our passion to serve grew, which gave us vision and dreams for our future. Some ideas were silly and unfeasible, some more realistic than others. However, no matter the scale or scope of those dreams, we knew that San Diego had to be home base and that Foothills had to be our home church - because we also knew that God would fulfill our hearts’ desires of serving in youth ministry overseas. That is, to be missionaries.

In July of 2016, we led a small team of discipleship students to Kenya where we supported and ministered to the local Youth Venture program, a ministry of Foothills that disciples and mentors young people with gospel-centered curriculum. At the time, we felt this trip was an open door to see our dreams come true. Seven months later, in February of 2017, we walked through that door and decided to make those dreams a reality by committing to serve in Kenya for the next two years. God is so good!

Nothing short of praise and glory do we give to God who has been so faithful to us. We also give our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way with their prayers, encouragement, and resources even before we had this vision for our future. Everyone of you is a part of this mission, and we are so excited to see His kingdom expand in this beautiful nation.

a little more About us

Jeremy was born and raised in Los Angeles. After obtaining his graduate degree in sport management, he moved to Mammoth Lakes to work at The Station Youth Camp (and do some snowboarding). It was here where the Lord called him to youth ministry and where Jeremy grew his appreciation for God's creation - it's also where he met Rheanna! Nowadays, Jeremy loves spending time with his family, being on the trail or in the water, or dreaming about all of the above.

Rheanna is a San Diego native with a true a servant's heart. She worked at Sharp Grossmont hospital before taking off to serve in Romania for six months. Upon her return, she worked in the youth department at Foothills Christian Church. Her heart for the mission field and youth ministry would then take her to Nigeria for another six months, but not before a quick weekend trip to Mammoth where she unknowingly met her future husband. She now enjoys being a mother to Shiloh and coordinating Foothills' major youth events - like Future Quest.
